Girl's day

We had some fun times last Friday! We had a girls' day. We went to a movie, Planet 51, walked around the mall and then went to Jumpin' Joes Family fun Center.
Aleah liked the movie, Nani is still a little young to fully enjoy those. It was a good thing we got candy in popcorn!
And then the girls humored mommy and walked around the mall until Jumpin' Joes opened. They did a great job too!
And Jumpin' Joes, well, it's ghetto! It's one of those places that is waiting for the last light bulb to burn out and then they'll shut down. Regardless, the girls had fun. For about 2 hours they climbed around the mesh jungle gym that has slides and a ball pit.
It was a good day! I love my babies!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Not that creative
I have to say, all these projects/ideas are not my own. I don't want to take credit for these. I'm just a copycat. While I'm looking at blogs, if I see something I like or want to do, I bookmark it. I always feel like I'm the last to see these cool ideas because I see them on more than one of blog. So there you have it, the confession. Ha!

Last weeks crafts
Grandpa was here last week for a dental visit. Matthew passed. His dad survived, actually he better than survived. His dad said it was the best visit to the dentist he has ever had! What a superstar dentist! While Grandpa was here he helped us with our holiday craft. We gotta have someone responsible to be in charge of the glue gun.

Having fun
Yes, They did pick them out themselves. Nani likes the bones and Aleah likes sparkles. The sparkles ended up all over the house and all over us.

Happy Birthday Great Grandma
Last week was Great Grandma Rios' birthday. On Friday we went to visit her in Manhattan, KS, after Matthew finished work. It was a really quick visit, but we were so happy to be able to make it. Aleah had started coughing the day before and it wasn't too bad. The next day it was a little more and by the time we got to Grandma's she had a fever. Aleah wasn't into to taking pictures that night so we don't have very many. Here are a few.
She had to look cute to go visit Great Grandma, so that morning I put a big green juicy apple on her shirt to match the buttons on her skirt. I love it! Love that Daddy!

Aleah: "Daddy can you play blocks with me? Please."
Too cute to resist.
This is their tallest tower yet.
Nani: "Daddy read me" (as she holds a book up)How can he possibly resist?
I just thought they looked too cute reading together on the ground that I couldn't resist taking a picture.
All his girls felt special! We love that Daddy!
Nani had a Maple Bar. She is unconventional how she eats. She has a hard time eating sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs. She doesn't really understand the concept of a "sandwich", she just wants to eat. And I guess this is how she eats doughnuts. Nothing wrong with that, just cute.

refashions

An old 80's sweater that I turned into a sweater dress for Nani. It needs work. The flower didn't turn out the way I had imagined. I think I'm going to take it off and put black ribbon across the bottom and maybe the collar. At least she's so cute that she makes the dress look better. She wore it on Sunday with a dark grey lace slip underneath and her hair was brushed. Brushing hair usually helps:)
This skirt became....I liked how it turned out. The big fleur de lis I had imagined bigger with less of the whole showing, but I thought it still looked good enough.

Same as the last one. Converted it into a jumper, added a ruffle, and a design of some sort. I tried to get a close up of the design in the bottom right corner, but my camera has really bad exposure. The above pic is even edited.
Nani didn't have a black shirt to match this so I used one of my old t-shirts and made it her size and added elastic on the sleeves to make a gathered ruffle look.
