Tubes and Adenoids

January 18, Aleah had tubes out in her ears and her adenoids removed. She was such a trooper and recover quickly and happily. For the past year she had been having problems with fluid building up in her ears and it wouldn't drain. She had probably 5 ear infections in the last year and she usually needed a second round of antibiotics to clear it up. It turns out, it wasn't really clearing up. She wasn't a complainer whenever she got an infection, but we would notice that she couldn't hear us. The Doctor said, to her, it probably sounded like she was underwater.
When we took her to the ENT, he said that her tonsils were kind of big and thought that her adenoids might be also. Since you can't see your adenoids by just looking in the mouth, because they're up behind your nose, he said he would check when he went to put the tubes in. So they were big and he scrapped them out and cauterized the tissue. Yaooowwww!
Anyways, thank goodness. It all seems to be better!
When she came home for the hospital, she turned the TV down to 11! It use to be at 46!

After snapping out of the anesthesia, she was quite happy, with her goods from her nice thoughtful friends.
Finally, she zonked out!

Made it past the itch...

...as in the 7 years itch.

Happy Anniversary to us. It's been a great 8 years. So much learning and we feel like it really just gets better and better.

As life goes on, it's harder and harder to say what decision(s) were the best you've made, because without a certain one, many things could be different. With that being said, marrying my dear husband will always be at the top of best decisions I ever made!

You make me happy, my love!

So pleasant

This baby is absolutely pleasant. As each of my babies have, she melts my heart!
She has been responsive and interactive since she entered the world.
Soon after she was born, she smiled. At first, I thought I was crazy. I thought that I might be making it up, but then she kept doing it and has not missed a day. She loves when you talk to her. She'll light up, smile and talk right along with you.
My dear sweet Maya, thank you for being a part of our family. Your sisters adore you, as do your daddy and I.

You love making raspberries, sucking on you fingers and just watching everything around you. You are extremely squishable, so much so, that I think I just might squish you away! You think it's funny when I kiss your neck, tickle your sides and squeeze you. You are so close to rolling over and you're getting better and better with your hands.

You are a content baby. You cry when your tired and sometimes it takes some good bouncing to get you to fall asleep. I just fit in a little work out while I do it, you know, a few squats and calf raises. You like it and it works.

You like your baths just fine. Even when I take you out, and put the cold lotion on you, you don't fuss. You don't particularly like putting your arms in your sleeves, but you tolerate it well.

We haven't figured out what color your eyes are. Mostly they seem a deep grayish color, sometimes a little more brown and sometimes a little more blue. What ever color they are, they are beautiful.

We love you sweet baby!

Having a baby isn't bliss, but it sure is pleasant. There's nothing like it.
Love you my darling baby!

There's a few other pictures thrown in here from other things throughtout the Christmas break. (A quick Missy visit, Nani's preschool program, and around the house.)

We feel so blessed! In many ways. We know how fortunate we are. We know that all we have is because of Our Heavenly Father and His love for us. We know that because He gave us His Son and because His Son chose to be given, we have this earthly happiness that can become an eternal happiness.
