Post Christmas Activities

We didn't get around to doing our Gingerbread house before Christmas, but I didn't think that the Gingerbread kit would still be good next year, actually it probably would have since you don't really eat it. I guess you do eat some of it, at least the girls did. Well, anyway we finally did the house for FHE and the girls loved it!

And these pictures are one of my fun projects...cleaning out and getting ready to move.

I know it's 5 months away, but that's just how I like to do the whole moving thing. I love getting rid of the stuff we don't use or realize we don't need.

And soon, within the next 5 months, it will all be organized.

There will be plenty more pictures to come. What can I say? I enjoy it! The feeling of being organized is a feeling of peace and order. Sigh.

that you don't put a glass 9x13 pan/dish in the oven on broil.

It will explode/shatter into a million pieces, oh and makes a horribly loud sound while doing that. And then you say, "What the...?!!!"

The chicken was pretty good though.............

okay just kidding. Had there not been little shards of glass all over the chicken, we probably could have eaten it. I guess that gets chalked up as one of life's little lessons.

Huh.....hopefully it sticks so that I don't absent mindedly do that one again. If I do, I don't think my dear husband will be so nice and clean it up for me again.

CHRISTMAS MORNING!!!

Having kids at Christmas makes it so much fun!!! It was so fun to see the girls open their presents and then just play with them all day!

The eve of Christmas

Christmas Eve we delivered cookies to some friends and then took some presents to families from a sub-for-Santa type thing. We had a good time. After that we spent all night together watching movies, playing and then reading the Christmas story and singing Christmas hymns. I love being with family!

Before we went to bed we made sure to leave a plate of cookies for Santa.

I know there's probably 4 too many pictures of us in our nightwear, what can I say, I was proud of it.

A Christmas Carol

Like a lot of families, we do the pj thing on Christmas Eve. This year we're going for a Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" theme. Last week these night gowns and night caps were my project. Aleah's was the first one I did, so she had to try it on for me several times to make sure it fit and that it was going to look okay. I thought she looked pretty cute, so I continued with the rest. Here are a few pictures of her in her little night gown. You'll see pix of the whole family after Christmas Eve.

One day I can't wait to have parties like this...when we have more space, more money and more resources. My sister and friends did a Girls' night Hot Cocoa party, you gotta go here and vote for the beauty of it and their sweet party planning skills.

It was a little on the cold side, but beautiful and Christmas-y.

Especially for grandparents

Nani insists on putting her shoes on as soon as she gets up and Aleah, I had nothing to do with her outfit. She asks to put a skirt on everyday and if one can't be found she wears shorts. We have an agreement that if we have to go somewhere, then she has to put pants on, but if she's in the house, she does not wear pants. We had to come to some kind of compromise, because if not, she would try to hide and put shorts on, or she would come up with some reason why her pants were unwearable, or she would just pull her pant legs up so they were shorts. It's only snowing outside. Go figure.

At least it's nice, warm and summery in our apartment.

These are a few pictures of the girls just having a good time. They were spinning/dancing to Christmas music and knocking each other down. It doesn't get any better than this.

I love the holidays, especially with our little munchkins.

Thanksgiving.......and the next day

Our day of thanks, gluttony and, of course, games.

The grub goodness. Everything was DELICIOUS! Everybody pitched in and made something. Matthew made these deviled eggs with bacon and cheese, can we say scrumptious?!

And here we have a little bit of Black Friday.

The thing about black friday, is I just go to be part of the MADNESS!! I don't really check the ads or go to buy anything, I just think it's ridiculous, hilarious, and fun! The first time I ever went was with my sisters, so I was so happy to be able to go again with my sisters!!

I love hanging out with my sisters so much that I didn't go to sleep until 3:30am and then woke up at 4:15am and was back by 6:45am to go to the airport.

My sister really wanted to get a Kitchen Aid that was on sale at Wal-Mart. If you want madness, Wal-Mart is the place to go, oh beware for your life too. There was a moment or 2 where I thought I was going to freak out from claustrophobia and from the realization that this was potentially dangerous. ( A mob of people going every which direction and could careless if you're in the way or not. Somebody let me breathe!! Okay I'm done panicking.) Next year, I don't think I'll be going to Wal-Mart. I must say I did feel some comfort in knowing that my sister Mashadie could take several people out and save me if necessary.
