The Circus

April 16th we went to the circus. A friend gave us some tickets so we invited 2 of the girls' friends and loaded up and went to Salina for the circus. None of us had ever been! It was a lot of fun! There were all sorts of great things: A man who was shot out of a canon, dogs and horses that did tricks, lots and lots of clowns, tight rope walkers, amazing balancing guys and elephant, bears riding bicycles and dancing and of course cotton candy!

Jamming with Grandpa Joe

After Logan's and Alisha's weddings, Dad and Geri drove back home with us. Aleah was so anxious to get Grandpa Joe to take out his ukulele and play and sing. She wanted to get her little guitar out and jam too. Lucky us, Grandpa Joe tuned her little guitar. Besides a missing string, which broke while I tried to tune it, Aleah was ready to go. It was as usual, a good time.

Easter Festivities

Over Easter weekend, we drove down to San Antonio to visit family on the ranch. It was such a great time! It's always so good to be with family. Here we are dying Easter Eggs, playing games, enjoying baskets of loot from Aunt Cheri, having an egg hunt, and just hanging out. We had a fun water gun fight, but I had to put the camera away for that.

Easter Morning

Easter was a beautiful day. As we got ready for church, the girls looked through their Easter baskets. There's many fun traditions that come with Easter, but gratefully we were able to reflect and discuss the Resurrection of our Savior. Throughout the week, we read stories and scriptures to help us understand the importance of Easter. Then we get to enjoy traditions of baskets and eggs and more importantly, spending time with family.

After a quick morning of church and spending time on the ranch, we started our drive home. The girls did great on the drive and we got to listen to many inspiring talks from conference.

Sunday Nani learned about the Word of Wisdom.

In the car on the way home she told me that we can eat everything good and not things that are bad.

This is our conversations as follows:

I asked her, "What are good things?"

She said, "Pineapple, carrots, mashed potatoes, corn, chicken, and corn pie.

I asked, "What is Corn Pie?"

Nani,"Oh, you can eat that."

Interested, I continue, "Okay. Then what are bad things?

As matter of factly, she says, "You can't have whining, coffee and wingy"

Confused If I heard her right, I ask, "Oh, you mean wine. And what's wingy?"

Again, so sure, she says,"You can't have that it's very bad."

St Patrick's Day

In anticipation, Nani and I drew a nifty leprechaun doing a jig on our walkway. Breakfast wasn't too exciting, but it was still a treat.
More treats, shamrock cookies and gold coin sandwich cookies.

And our festive green explosion, that wasn't really an explosion. It was a baking soda and vinegar mixture, with food coloring. Ya, it didn't explode like intended, but it was still fun. Nani had green on her forehead the rest of the day because it sprayed out and got her.
Our lucky charm.

E-I-E-I OOPS!

Aleah was in a school musical called E-I-E-I OOPS.

Old McDonald had a farm and his cow lost his "Moo". There were farmers, sheep, pigs and chicks. The Kindergartners were the chicks. Aleah do so well. She sang her little heart out and she knew all the songs and actions. It was wonderful to see her perform and not be shy or embarrassed. She even helped her friend next to her.

Good job sweetie! Thanks for sharing with us!
