6 Months

Our little Maya had her well check this last week. She's 25 3/4 inches and 17 lbs. 10 oz. She also got some immunizations and did well.

This little baby girl is so very pleasant and enjoyable. She is so happy and loves to be interacted with.
She melts my heart and I look forward to her smile and squeezing her little squishiness.

A few weeks ago was Dr. Seuss week at school. It was a fun week for our little kindergartner. Aleah had fun dressing up everyday and doing fun activities at school. I got to participate by going to Aleah's class to bring a healthy snack, going to read to her and bringing a Dr. Seuss treat at the end of the week.

Yummy snack of banana and apple slices dipped in strawberry yogurt and rolled in graham cracker crumbs! These are good and they were made by Daddy!

Improvised, Green Eggs and No Ham cookies.

A little Cat in the Hat.

Family...isn't it about time?

A few weekends ago, Aunt Missy came out to Manhattan and we got to drive over there to spend some time with her, Great Grandma, Grandma and Grandpa. It's always so nice to be with family!

Strep Throat

Poor girl had strep last week. She had said a few times that her throat felt scratchy, but other than that, there wasn't any complaining and no fever. Then there was a lump. I sent her to school Thursday morning and then the school called an hour later saying she had a good sized lump on her neck. I was a little puzzled. When I got to the school, I was a shocked and I hoped that I hadn't sent her to school like that.
When Aleah was in class that morning, she told her teacher that it hurt her neck when she turned her head. So her teacher looked and saw this huge bump.
Anyway, we took her to the doctor that afternoon and it turned out she had strep. Her Lymph Node was just swollen really big. She was a really good sport and now she's doing just fine!

Nani's Logic

I decided it was time for my once every 2 year post on the blog. Last night was kind of crazy with getting off work a little late, getting dinner ready, then going to a school performance for Aleah. After her performance we came home and I told the girls if they did a good job taking a bath and getting PJ's on then we could have a treat. They were determined to go fast and finish their bath time. I was drying them off with their towels and Aleah right away got her PJs on and went off to the kitchen to look for her treat.

Nani was still trying to decide what to wear. I tried helping her along, but she just told me that things are not fair. I explained to her that if she wanted a treat she needed to get dressed fast or there wasn't going to be time for a treat because it will be bedtime. Then she looked at me with those big, sad, brown eyes and said , "Daddy, it's not fair that we aren't fairies. If we were fairies we could say Bippity Boppity Boo and then our clothes would be on. It's just not fair that we're not fairies. We could go much faster." I didn't know what to say to that so I agreed with her that it wasn't fair and she was happy again and put her PJs on with enough time to have a treat.

I love all my little girls. They are so fun to be with and they definitely brighten my day.

New Food

Maya tried rice cereal on Feb. 15th and she loved it! She has had some just about everyday since, but doens;t always love it like the first time. Today she had a little rice cereal mixed with bananas and she did pretty well. She seemed indifferent, but she liked helping Daddy with the spoon.

What a cute baby!

Good job Maya! And good job Daddy!

Weighing in at...

January 24th Maya had her check up. 24inches and 16lbs 6 ounces.

The 26th she finally made it past her arm and completed the roll. So now we have a unhappy rolling baby, meaning, she doesn't like being on her stomach. When we put her down on her back, she rolls over and the almost immediately starts crying. She can last a few minutes if you're there to entertain her.
