Easter fun

Last Saturday, we started our morning off with yummy Easter egg pancakes! The girls loved them. Then we had a fun filled day of shopping for Easter crafts and goodies for this week.

The girls picked a few things out for their doll house too. We had a great day.
(Matthew had to work again that day, so I tried to make it fun for the girls. Success!)

A few pics from last Sunday of the girls looking cute in their new dresses!

A few quick projects

This little dress turned out okay. I'll have to make some revisions the next time I make it.
It's a summer dress or maybe a swim suit cover up or both.

This was my first experience shirring/smocking (click for a tutorial) and it turned out! I was intimidated to try, but it was a lot easier than I thought! These are made from old t-shirts and they're nice and soft and perfect for summer...even though the girls insist on wearing them now:)

These little shorties are a copy cat from MADE. She didn't have a tutorial, but you could figure it out using your own kids clothes as a pattern.

Small reminders

The other day, on the way to church, I was thinking of a particular person with whom I am very close to. As I thought about her, I was reminded of a trial she faces everyday and the burden and great responsibility of that trial. In reflection, I was taken back to a particular moment in which this person so deeply expressed how challenging the struggle can be sometimes.

I thought of my own responsibilities and the burden that comes with those, and for a small moment, I felt my eyes and my heart open, and I had a small glimpse of the burden she carries.

After church, on the drive home, my heart felt full and I wanted to express my love for that friend. Later that day, I was able to have a conversation with her and to share my experience. In doing, it proved to me, to be a reminder from Heavenly Father just how loved we are.

That day was especially challenging for my friend and I felt that in the moments of her struggle, I was able to have my love deepen and grow for her because I was allowed to understand her pain a little deeper.

Heavenly Father loves us and knows us. Sometimes we feel forgotten in our trials, but it seems, in these times, He especially extends His love, and reaches out to us.

At first glance, it would appear that my friend was the one who needed that extension of love and the reminder that we are not forgotten. But in reality, I feel that I was the one who was greatly blessed and needed to be reminded.

I love my little family!

I just wanted to say that my girls have been amazing through the beginning of this pregnancy and all the sickness they had. And I was reminded over and over how wonderful my husband is.........
I haven't ever forgotten:)

I forgot we had a blog...

We are still alive!

Through the middle on January to the first week of March, we were just surviving. Between Aleah and Nani, they had 5 ear infections, 3 eye infections, a sinus infection, some tonsillitis, some throwing up and bronchitis. Matthew and I didn't get sick until last week with sinus infections. To top if all off, this was all during the stages of morning sickness for me. Yes, we're going to have number 3. The due date is Sept 24th, which makes me 13 weeks.

I think it's safe to say that we're all feeling better, morning sickness included. Now, all we have left is to get some allergies under control and then we'll all be healthy as horses!
Back to the blogging world.

(Uh, I haven't taken a pic in awhile, so this one will have to do.)

New New year's tradition

We had so much fun with Sponge Bob that I think we'll do it every year! Good times!

You can't see the wound too well. According to Aleah, she received this from Nani crashing the umbrella in her eye. She wanted a pic. to show Grandma and Grandpa.
