A Favorite Past Time

One of my favorite things that my dad does is sit around, play the Uke and sing. He could be singing by himself while watching all the ongoings or he could be playing for the whole crowd. It's really a good time. My girls really enjoyed it.

When we were in San Diego a few weeks ago, we went to the Del Mar Fair, or now known as the San Diego County fair. One of the first things the girls saw on the way in was a Pony ride. They both got excited about it and both said they wanted to ride it. I thought pft, right.

My girls are absurdly afraid of animals, I thought surely there was no way they'd get on those. We walked on and told them that on our way out of the fair, if they really wanted to and would get on the pony I'd pay the outrageous price of $7 a kid.

Throughout the day, the girls kept asking to ride the pony. After all the food we ate, all the rides we went on, after looking at animals, we came past the pony again and they still wanted to ride them. So, I reluctantly hand over the money, wondering if they're really going to get on. Luckily there was a sign that said you could haven your $ back if your child would not get on the pony. But when it came time for their turn, there was no problem at all. No convincing or anything. I don't get it. Nani got on the pony and right away said, "Yee Haw!"

Ponies are much cooler than dogs, cats, hamsters, etc, but they're way bigger. I just don't get it. Anyway, I was very proud of the girls for riding the ponies and loving it!

I asked her to say "Yee Haw" again, just so I could have it on camera.

Little princesses

Auntie Aimee wanted to buy the girls these nightgowns. They look so cute and like little princesses.

Aimee here are the girls in their nightgowns. Nani calls it here wedding clothes.

I was testing out my new flat iron, so their hair is straightened too.

Ode to the Dad in our house.

This is our late father's day post. We were out of town on Father's day, but thought this was fitting for the Dad in our house. Love you babe and you are so cool!

Next project

This is the next project in the house. (even though there are still unfinished projects)

The baby"s room. Last week, we cleaned all the girls toys out of the baby room and moved them downstairs to the basement. We finally got our carpet redone in the basement so now we can start organizing things down there. After clearing out the toys I set up the crib and rocking chair. This is what the room looks like right now. It definitely needs some love.

Who knows when it'll be done. It's a small room. It shouldn't take too long. We have ideas for it, but not concrete plans.

Soon though.

I have a fabric line picked out, Dolce, by Tanya Whelan. The fabric looks much better in person. In fact, that's how I found it. Every time I see it online, it really doesn't look too cute, but I've seen it a few times in the fabric store, and I love it! We're pretty sure that's what we're going with. Now the idea is to go peaceful, light, breezy, whimsical and neat. Much like the girls bedroom. I just feel so happy when I go in to the girls' room that we wanted the baby's room to feel that way too.

My dad's wedding.

We recently got back from a trip to San Diego for my dad's wedding. He got married June 12th to a lovely lady named Geri Eberle. It was fun to be there and to be with family. I need to get more pics from my sis. so I can do a better recap of the whole trip.

Why Nani loves us

For Family Home Evening we went around and said why we love each person in our family. I had to share why Nani loves us all.

Nani: "I love Aleah because she makes me laugh a lot (she repeated Aleah) and she bonks me on the head with the ball. I love Mommy because she makes me mad a lot and she bonks me on the shoulder." Then, with a big grin on her face and such a sweet look, she turns towards Daddy and says, " I like Daddy"

The funny thing is, we all said one of the reasons we love Nani had to do with how she makes us laugh.

She's such a funny girl.
