New New year's tradition
We had so much fun with Sponge Bob that I think we'll do it every year! Good times!

Elf yourself
For our ward Christmas party we had a talent show. As a family we tried to do the Elf yourself e-card. You know what I'm talking about, right? Where the elves dance around with killer moves? With sweet Christmas music? If not, google it. (too lazy to link it myself) Anyway, I snapped this pic while we were trying to practice. Crazy little elf girls!
(Shaz: I didn't make the outfits, just added to some regular clothes. Girls had the skirts, bought the socks, some clearance shirts that are inside out with a felt collar sewn on, belts we made out of felt and some trim, and the hats were from last year's Christmas pjs.)
Too bad we don't have a pic with all of us.
Oh, it didn't go so well at the talent show. Aleah decided she didn't want to do it and clung on the Matthew. Which means Matthew couldn't really dance, even though he tried. He flung Aleah around because she was attached to his leg. Apparently that was the best part of our 50 sec show. Nani tried, it was hard to keep up . Which left me dancing like a fool by myself and trying to help Nani.
We were going to try it over the break with family so they could record it for us, but the weather conditions didn't give us a chance.
Oh well, maybe next year.
Last thing, Matthew was a good sport! He really didn't want to dress up as an elf!

up and coming Beautician
Aleah has officially tried out her hair cutting skills.
She gave a few barbies, Nani and herself a haircut. I knew sooner or later it was bound to happen. Luckily it was a rather good job and she refrained from cutting off a ponytail.

Gave this barbie some layers.
Wow, going for a little more of an artistic look here.
There were 2 other barbies with a haircuts, but one was just the head, so we threw that one away, and the other, you can barely even tell.
Now, for Nani, she has some bangs. Sometimes they look funny, but for the most part she wears them pretty cute! It must be that squishy kissable face!

I guess Aleah is for hire, any takers?
(btw, no pics of Aleah's haircut because you can really tell unless we separate the hair she did cute from the uncut hair)
Oh, and yes, both I and Matthew were home and so naive. Aleah and Nani will often get something set up, or get dressed, and not want us to see until they're all ready. I guess it was the same in this case too. Several times we were told by Aleah and Kanani,
"Don't look yet, don't come down stairs."
So we didn't.
We found out the barbies had their hair cut when we went to clean up the toys in the basement, but still didn't notice their hair was cut. It was until a little while later when we were eating dinner that I was looking at Aleah and noticed a few strands of hair look freshly cut.
So there you have it.

Thanksgiving 4: Movies and Santa
Saturday after Thanksgiving, we went downtown to a cookie shop and a bread shop, then we visited Santa and then went to a free movie. It was a good time with the kids.
If it's not obvious in the Santa pics, my kids are not yet willing to sit on his lap. I don't even think that we tried last year. I guess they like him more in theory.

Thanksgiving 3: Black Friday
YAY! Black Friday, it's just so much fun to join the masses! This year I was able to still go and I went with my BIL and SIL. It was good times. Matthew even joined in on the fun at about 7:30 after his parents came to watch the kids.
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for watching the kids and thanks Mike and Elena for taking me with you. And Babe, thanks for joining in on the fun!

Nani is hugging Daddy with her whole body trying to stay away from Santa.
This is Aleah gripping on, thinking, " No Mom, please No!"
