The Tooth Fairy

Wednesday was a big day for us. Aleah started preschool. Nani had special Mommy Nani Time, Matthew pulled out some wisdom teeth, and me......I got my wisdom teeth pulled. It was awesome guys! Matthew is the best dentist ever. He pulled my teeth and did a stinkin' good job! Yet again, I was impressed. They were a little on the easier side because they were erupted, but still, he didn't leave any root tips in and he didn't have to cut any gum or bone! And all of that translates to "great recovery"! I also had a really good nurse who didn't have me do anything at home except rest}) Then the next day, even a friend brought me some popsicles and dinner for that evening. And the tooth fairy brought me ice cream pie and some roses. Can you say spoiled?!

I really could just milk this for all it's worth.

Mommy and Nani Time

Saying bye to Roo Boo at preschool was a little much for Nani. Actually she did a lot better than expected. Nani cried more when we went to Aleah's preschool meeting a few nights before. Anyway, we had some special one on one time. I took Nani to breakfast and then to the library. We even squeezed in a 2o minute nap because we weren't going to be able to fit
a nap in later. So here are a few videos and pics from our "Mommy Nani Time" She is such a funny squeezable girl.

This last pic, which isn't a very good picture of the picture, is a picture that Aleah drew for Nani while she was at school. When we picked Aleah up from school, she came running up to Nani and gave her a big hug and pulled this picture out of her back pack. I asked her what it was and she said,

"It's big sister Aleah and little sister Nani. I drew Nani so she could be with me and won't be sad any more. It's says from Aleah.The purple one is me, the pink one in Nani."

What a sweet sister! I love my girls!

First day of Preschool!

Today was Aleah's first day of Preschool! She loved it! Even though she was up soooo late the night before, thanks to a double header of softball, she was able to pull herself together and be excited and happy for school. She was the cutest little 4 year old! When we got her dressed, I told her I wanted to take a picture of her and she just started dropping all these poses. It was too funny, I had to post them.

(Oh, and yes, I did make her outfit. I wasn't going to because she didn't want a shirt that said, "A is for Apple" But funny enough, Matthew really wanted me to make her an outfit for the first day of school. He kept trying to convince Aleah that she would like it, but I still wasn't on board. I don't want to make my kids wear my homemade outfits if they don't like them. You know we all had to do it as kids. {Love you mom;)} Anyway, on Monday she decided she wanted an "A is for Apple shirt". Needless to say, after having to call around and drive to a nearby town to find supplies, I finished it at midnight the night before. Aleah liked it, but Matthew loved the apple! Maybe I should make him a shirt like that! Do you think he'd wear it?)

Last weeks projects

I found this while going through my supplies. Yes, these were projects from last Christmas. The kitchen towel apron. They seriously take a few minutes, but I guess I just started doing other projects before I finished them.

And then back to this wretched thing. Reupholstering isn't the most fun project I've done.
I started this a month ago and brought it back out this week to finally finish it. This takes awhile and it's a pretty lame job, but it's good enough for me.

And these, well these are almost done. All I have left to do is to paper the back. I have 3 shelves done on the left bookshelf. These were a few months long project. A friend helped, well actually 2 friends, helped us build these shelves and bench. I had this idea, good or not, I don't know, but nonetheless, an idea, that I would build these shelves. I was looking through some magazines and I saw this bay window with all these cute pillows and I really liked it. So I said to myself,
"That would be cool to have in our living room."
I tried to figure out a way to do it and this is the best I came up with, since we are just renting and probably shouldn't knock out a wall to make the bay window. Obviously, the pad and the pillows are not done for the bench and neither are the curtains. So there is more work to do, but the shelves are built and painted.

Last Thursday, we celebrated the anniversary of Matthew's birth! It was a crazy fast day. We ran a few errands while Matthew was at work in the morning and then brought him and his co-workers fruit pizza. Then the girls and I filled Matthew's car with balloons and wrote happy birthday messages on his car windows. Then I packed us all up for the weekend in Kansas City. Too bad we weren't going for a little birthday trip, it was so that Matthew could go to an implant seminar by his boss. That night we went to IHOP for birthday breakfast. In KC, we stayed with Matthew's cousins. We had fun getting to talk and hang out with them and the girls loved playing with both Matthew's cousin and her husband. Then we headed home sat. afternoon and stopped on the way home for a baptism of one of my primary kids. Then when we got home we did chores. Then to finish up the busy weekend, we had some friends over for Matthew's birthday dinner. Well, it was supposed to be Matthew's birthday dinner, but he made almost everything himself, including his cake. I know I sound like a mean neglectful wife, but I promise, he said he wanted to do it.

I don't have any pictures, except the 2 I posted, sorry. Just imagine a picture of Matthew with a big smile and lots of balloons.

Happy Birthday Matthew we love you! We're so glad you were born and have had 33 years of blessing the lives of others and especially blessing our lives!

Dr. Perry has arrived!

Last Friday, while Matthew, I mean Dr. Perry, was out of town , I had an old filling come out of a premolar while I was flossing. Tooth 29, to be exact. Anyway, he made an appt. for me today and fixed my tooth. It was pretty cool to see Matthew doing his thing and to actually see him doing dentistry. I must say, I was pretty impressed and proud. Such a stud! Rrrr! Don't get me going.

It was an old amalgam filling that came out. He put a pretty composite in. Now you can't even tell there was huge ugliness there.

Thanks babe! I'm so proud of you!

p.s. isn't that cool that my husband can just fix that for me?! Don't be jealous. He'd fix yours too. (Except some of you have your own dentist husbands to fix that.)

Girls' weekend!

Daddy went to Kansas City, 3 hours away, to work for the weekend. So we had a girls' weekend. We started off with a little trip to a park with a lake and we, of course, threw rocks, and other things in. We had a lesson on what floats and what sinks. There's a part that has cement stepping stones to walk across. It's pretty easy by yourself, a little exciting with a 4 year old. Where the stepping stones are it's really mossy. So mossy that you can't even tell it's water. I'll have to take a picture of that next time we go.

Then after lunch and playing at home, we went to Dairy Queen for ice cream! Yum!

These cones were too big for the girls, and I couldn't finish theirs and mine, so they ended up in the trash. Next time we'll share.

Then we got a few movies and after dinner, we snuggled on the couch and watched them together.

Saturday, after mowing the lawn, we went to the Farmer's market. It was okay, the girls really liked it, so I can't complain. Here they are with some squash.

The Farmer's Market was at the 4H fairgrounds. so we got to see some horses too. That's Aleah's uneasy look. We were a little too close for her comfort. (Which in all actuality is not close at all. Notice we weren't even close enough to get a horse in any pictures)

Then we headed down to Main street to take a trolley tour, but we missed the first ride and were too early for the 2nd one. Then we just sat and let the girls eat the homemade granola bars we bought at the Farmer's Market.

There was a fly disturbing the girls while trying to eat.

Then we went to the car wash. The girls enjoyed scrubbing and spraying. It probably should have only cost $2.50, but it ended up being $5.00. It takes a little longer when little people help:)

Then we had lunch at the Main Street Deli, which was very nice.

Before we left, the girls really wanted to sit on this bench. And because I'm so nice, I let them. They were making faces in the window and they thought they were so funny. I thought it was pretty funny too!

Well, that's pretty much all the exciting stuff we did. (Hey, I know, it doesn't sound that exciting, but it sure was fun just hanging out with my girls!)
